God keeps us strong

16 Janvier 2017 , Rédigé par JAMC

Reading: 1 Corinthians 1.8

« … who [God] shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ » - King James Version

« He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ » - Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Hebrew word which is translated as ‘confirm’ or ‘strengthen’ in the above passages is “bebaioõ” which means ‘to make firm, to establish, to make … sure or to confirm. Many believers think they are not strong enough to resist or overcome circumstances. But the problem is that we believe in our own strength or abilities. From the above passage, we understand that it is God (and no one else) that strengthens us. He is the one who gives us strength. Which strength? His Strength! We have God’s strength because Christ is in us and Christ is God. That is why it is said ‘God strengthens us’. It is His presence that makes our strength. Can you imagine anything above God’s strength?

We can also be sure of one thing, we are strong forever. He says He will strengthen us to the end, not for one or two days, not for one week or year. No! He will strengthen us forever! Therefore He will keep us strong everyday. This is so simply because His Presence is with us now and forever as He told His disciples. Therefore we need not be afraid of any situation. We are always strong because it is God that keeps us strong and I don’t believe He will one day be tired.

Since God is the one who keeps us strong, and He will keep us strong to the end, we can be sure of another thing, we are blameless and will be kept blameless before God till Christ returns. Remember we are strengthened so that we should be found blameless when Christ comes. Now, if God strengthens us, then we are blameless already. Also, since God will keep us strong to the end as the passage clearly states, then we will continue to be blameless till Christ comes. Let our mindset be tuned to this Truth. We are not sinners anymore for Christ has paid the price. We are blameless before God and we will be till the end.

Confession

Thank you Father for the gift of your Word today. Thank you for making me strong. I am strong because Christ lives in me. I will always be strong because you strengthen me. Your strength is in me. I thank you for keeping me blameless in your sight till Christ comes. I am free from every bondage of weakness in my mind and attitude. I am strong. Amen.
